The management team have been working in accountancy for collectively over 80 plus years – myself and Phil started at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where we first met.

After building experience across different firms, we came back together and spent the last 14 years working closely as a team on the Yorkshire Coast.

It didn't take long to realise we work best together – and that shared mindset is what led us to create our firm Lintons. One built around proactive advice, modern tools, and genuinely supporting our clients at every stage.

Phil Thompson – Chartered Tax Adviser CTA

Phil brings over 32 years of experience in tax, having started his career at PwC before building a strong reputation supporting individuals and owner-managed businesses across the Yorkshire Coast and beyond.

Known for his practical and approachable style, Phil helps clients navigate complex tax matters with confidence, including Inheritance Tax advice and Trusts, providing proactive advice that supports growth, protects wealth and helps both individuals and businesses alike plan ahead.

He believes in building long-term relationships through clear communication, straightforward guidance and solutions tailored to each client’s goals.

Hayley Thompson Director Associate Taxation Technician ATT

Hayley is ATT qualified with a BA Honours degree in Accounting and Finance, bringing a strong blend of tax knowledge, compliance expertise and practical business experience to the practice.

As Director of Lintons, Hayley plays a key role in ensuring clients receive reliable, proactive support and exceptional service. Prior to co-founding the practice, she worked as a Compliance Manager, overseeing more than 2,500 clients and maintaining an outstanding record for meeting regulatory deadlines.

Jonathan Dowson Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant FCCA

Effective tax planning provides certainty and control.

Jonathan brings over 26 years of experience providing accountancy, compliance and business advisory services to a wide range of clients.

With expertise in cloud accounting and the Xero ecosystem, he helps businesses streamline processes, improve efficiency and gain greater visibility over their finances.

His practical approach combines modern technology with sound financial advice to help clients make confident decisions and achieve sustainable growth.
